Job Details
Primary Role
- You will be partnering with the Pharmacy Manager, preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients.
- The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.
Essential Job Functions
- Review and execute providers prescriptions, checking their appropriateness and legality.
- Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster.
- Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking, and labeling medicine and other products, and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration.
- Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
- Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and materials for each individual patient.
- Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed.
- Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse credentialing.
- Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State, and Local laws regulated.
- Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies.
- Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
- Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians' schedules.
- This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absence or medical accommodations.
- Other duties as necessary.
Requirements
- Current License to practice (PharmD) in Pennsylvania.
- Excellent oral, written skills.
Experience
- Previous leadership role helpful.
- Previous experience utilizing a patient management system.
- 4 years of related pharmacy experience.
Physical Requirements
- Standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Fine Motor Skills.
Skills Required
- 4-5 years retail pharmacy experience and min. 3 years pharmacy management exp.
- 2-3 years of retail pharmacy exp.
- Great leadership, communication and management skills.
