Pharmacist

Primary Role

• You will be partnering with the Pharmacy Manager, preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients.
• The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.

Essential Job Functions

• Review and execute providers prescriptions, checking their appropriateness and legality.
• Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster.
• Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking, and labeling medicine and other products, and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration.
• Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
• Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and materials for each individual patient.
• Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed.
• Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse credentialing.
• Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State, and Local laws regulated.
• Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies.
• Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
• Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians' schedules.
• This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absence or medical accommodations.
• Other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Current License to practice (PharmD) in Pennsylvania.
• Excellent oral, written skills.

Experience

• Previous leadership role helpful.
• Previous experience utilizing a patient management system.
• 4 years of related pharmacy experience.

Physical Requirements

• Standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Fine Motor Skills.

Skills Required

• 4-5 years retail pharmacy experience and min. 3 years pharmacy management exp.
• 2-3 years of retail pharmacy exp.
• Great leadership, communication and management skills.
