Baer is looking for an SAP Plan-to-Stock (P2S) Navy Supply Chain Consultant for a 12+-month Federal project.

Duration: 12+ months
Alignment: W2 or C2C (Vendors Not Permitted)

Project Overview:

Our client is leading the technical upgrade of their critical Financial and Procurement systems for the US Navy, transitioning from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA. The project focuses on a fit-to-standard approach, minimizing customizations and aligning with S/4 HANA s standard configuration. Key efforts include defining requirements for the upgrade and supporting business process re-engineering.

Description:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Plan-to-Stock (P2S) Consultant to lead the Requirements Gathering, Business Process Re-engineering, and Configuration efforts within the client's logistics and supply chain operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading requirements gathering workshops with stakeholders, documenting as-is processes, and defining to-be processes for Plan-to-Stock (P2S) in SAP S/4HANA.
  • Conducting fit-gap analysis to identify process alignment opportunities, minimizing customizations while ensuring compliance with logistics and sustainment requirements.
  • Facilitating business process reengineering (BPR) sessions to improve inventory management, material planning, and procurement workflows.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (EWM, TM, FI/CO, and Ariba) to ensure seamless integration of SAP MM, PP, and IM.
  • Designing, configuring, and optimizing SAP P2S processes in S/4HANA to support demand planning, material procurement, production scheduling, and inventory control.
  • Establishing Available-to-Promise (ATP) rules, safety stock calculations, and lot-sizing procedures to enhance material availability.
  • Optimizing bin determination, warehouse integration (EWM), and production supply workflows.
  • Configuring forecasting and predictive analytics within SAP to enable data-driven supply chain decisions.
  • Developing functional design documents (FDDs), configuration workbooks, and test scripts.
  • Supporting data migration strategy for P2S processes, ensuring data readiness and alignment with the S/4HANA framework.
  • Participating in strategic planning and governance discussions related to ERP modernization, providing insights into organizational change management (OCM) and user adoption.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP P2S process design, configuration, and implementation with expertise in SAP MM, PP, IM, and integration with EWM, TM, FI/CO, and Ariba.
  • Proficiency in SAP Fiori applications for demand planning and inventory control.
  • Proven experience with S/4HANA implementations. Deep knowledge of S/4HANA P2S capabilities, preferably within the federal government or A&D sectors.
  • Skilled Navy Supply Chain Expert with deep understanding of Navy's supply chain business processes, organizational structures, material, and assets flow between different Navy organizations
  • Experience with logistics and supply at various commands with multiple asset classes to include shore/afloat commands, fleet units and depots for various asset/material classes such as Ordnance, Ammunition, Construction Materials, Repair parts, Clothing & Equipment, Medical, etc
  • Experience/understanding how NAVSUP supports, works, and is integrated in the NAVY
  • Deep understanding of valuation methodologies for inventory, assets, and materiel in Navy ERP
  • Occasional travel to Rosslyn, VA may be required for workshops, at most 2-3 days onsite every two weeks but candidates with relevant experience who are unable to travel will still be considered.
  • Interim or Active Secret Clearance Required. (Clearance sponsorship for s with relevant experience may be available on a case by case basis.)
