Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Level 4 Data Center Technician to join our IT team. This role involves advanced break-fix support for GPUs, servers, networking, and cabling, as well as ITSM ticket management. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in deploying fully populated GPU or network racks and managing complex data center operations, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and cable tray installation. Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies (copper, fiber SM/MM/MPO), routing, dressing, and connectors is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks across Levels 1-3 as needed, including:
    • Install, move, and cable servers and switches per wire maps.
    • Inspect hardware for damage and ensure proper configuration.
    • Bundle cables neatly to meet standards and verify connectivity with network admins.
    • Install components (NICs, drives, memory) and update firmware.
    • Troubleshoot servers, isolate issues, and replace defective parts.
    • Configure IP addresses and credentials.
    • Assist network admins with cabling, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades.
    • Rack and stack servers/switches for remote configuration.
  • Advanced duties:
    • Deploy and configure GPUs in servers.
    • Perform break-fix tasks for GPUs, servers, network, and cabling.
    • Manage tickets via ITSM tools.
    • Interpret BOMs and validate materials.
    • Install, test, and label copper and fiber infrastructure.
    • Handle optical modules (SFP, QSFP) and clean fibers (SC, LC, MPO).
    • Lead build activities and ensure compliance with data center standards.
    • Provide project oversight, documentation, and status updates.
    • Manage multiple projects under high-pressure conditions.
    • Travel as required and work with DC power systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of data center deployment and break-fix experience.
  • Expertise in GPU/network rack installation and cabling technologies.
  • Skilled in fiber and copper patching, optical module handling, and rack stacking.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Familiarity with telecom engineering for enterprise-level data centers.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a data center environment.

Preferred Certifications

  • CompTIA A+, Server+
  • CCENT (required), CCNA (preferred)
  • MCP/MSCE (preferred)
  • Windows OS experience
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, Bash)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.
