Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.
The IT Systems Administrator will support the Department of Education to ensure adequate resources are available to meet the customers' requirements for Systems Administration, Test and Development infrastructure, and monitoring system performance as well as on premise and cloud computing architectures and administration.

Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.
The IT Systems Administrator will support the Department of Education to ensure adequate resources are available to meet the customers' requirements for Systems Administration, Test and Development infrastructure, and monitoring system performance as well as on premise and cloud computing architectures and administration.
Responsibilities
- Perform help desk-related duties, including but not limited to onboarding and offboarding activities, assignment and closure of help desk tickets, and any additional help desk duties.
- Backup and recovery strategies and reporting.
- Responsible for system imaging, system patching, backup and restore, and configuration management tools.
- Responsible for Systems Administration, Test and Development infrastructure, and monitoring system performance, to ensure adequate resources, including hardware, software, and communications, are available to meet customers' requirements.
- Coordinate infrastructure auditing tools and techniques, and project management requirements gathering and project formulation.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows-based computer systems on a complex data network.
- Apply advanced principles and practices of IT and project management, industry standards, and advanced technical concepts.
- Utilize server hardware and software on-premises and in the cloud, including various server operating systems and server applications, methodologies for specification, installation, configuration, analysis, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and documentation of server systems.
- Apply principles and operating procedures for directories, policies, permissions, and user account administration.
- Apply backup and recovery strategies and reporting.
- Perform administrative support and troubleshooting of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, & Group Policies.
- Research and configure in all areas of automation needs, including Power BI reports, Inventory automation, Microsoft Power Automate, and Approvals.
- Support, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance security infrastructure tools, methodologies, software, and hardware.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of experience, with 3+ years of experience specialized in Cloud computing, Windows Administration, and Cyber Security
- MCSE or Azure certification is highly desired
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure
- Experience with IT Compliance and Risk Management Methodologies - Cyber Security Framework, NIST Standards (SP 800-53r5), HIPAA, and FISMA
- Ability to obtain Baseline IAT-II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M requirements within 90 days of contract start.
- Background check required with the ability to obtain and maintain public trust
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge in Systems Administration, Test and Development infrastructure, and monitoring system performance, to ensure adequate resources are available.
- In-depth knowledge of system imaging, system patching, backup and restore, and configuration management tools.
- In-depth knowledge of premise and Cloud computing architectures and administration.
- In-depth knowledge and ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows-based computer systems on a complex data network.
- Intermediate to advanced networking concepts and configuration skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
