About This Role

We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:

Working as part of a multidisciplined team during the development phase of complex systems that require critical safety controls

Executing system safety and embedded software safety programs including analyzing explosive, mechanical, electrical, and software systems for hazards

Developing system safety architectures and oversight of implementation and verification of hazard mitigations at both system and subsystem levels while assuring compliance with other key system performance requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering or other relevant engineering disciplines and 4+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to understand software and data interfaces to assess potential failure modes that could lead to a hazard
  • Demonstrated experience (or interest in specializing/learning system safety) in the following areas is a plus:
    • MIL-STD-882E System Safety
    • DO-178/254 Software/Hardware development guidelines
    • Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSHB)
    • Perform hazard analyses on electrical, and embedded software systems
    • AOP-52 Software Safety Design and Assessment of Munition-Related Computing Systems
    • MIL-STD-1472
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute software safety assurance activities and processes with the above standards
  • Demonstrated ability to understand mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and understand circuit and interface failure modes that could lead to a hazard
  • Demonstrated ability to create injected fault data into digital systems
  • This role is not application SW safety nor IT system safety.
  • Active Secret clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required
