We are seeking an experienced FSCM Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep General Ledger (GL) expertise to support a major ERP Roadmap initiative for a higher education client.This role will ensure the client s financial management needs are clearly defined and fully addressed during solution demonstrations, peer benchmarking, and roadmap development. The SME will bring a deep understanding of ERP financial modules with an emphasis on GL design, integration, reporting, and compliance to help steer decisions for future ERP investments that support HR, Financials, and Campus Solutions.Key Responsibilities:
- ERP Demonstrations & Analysis:
- Provide critical subject matter expertise during demonstrations of ERP solutions, with a focus on General Ledger and related FSCM modules.
- Identify functional gaps, pain points, and integration issues, especially with existing non-PeopleSoft systems (Slate, CAS, Flywire, Campus Logic, Follet).
- Requirements Gathering & Process Design:
- Engage with stakeholders to document current-state GL processes, chart of accounts structure, and reporting requirements.
- Advise on future-state GL design and configuration options that enable flexibility, transparency, and compliance.
- Roadmap Development:
- Contribute to the strategic ERP roadmap by ensuring GL requirements are fully reflected in project plans and guiding principles.
- Provide input on policy alignment, data governance, and reporting standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Peer Learning:
- Participate in discussions with peer institutions to gather best practices and lessons learned related to GL and overall FSCM implementations.
- Support change management efforts by communicating the value and impact of proposed GL improvements.
- Project Support:
- Develop functional documentation, process flows, and requirements traceability for GL-related workstreams.
- Provide expertise for future configuration and testing phases as the roadmap moves toward implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master s or CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience as an FSCM SME, Functional Lead, or Consultant with significant hands-on GL experience.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP financial modules, particularly PeopleSoft FSCM (or comparable systems).
- Proven expertise in Chart of Accounts design, financial reporting, and GL configuration.
- Familiarity with higher education financial operations is strongly preferred.
- Ability to clearly communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to travel on-site as needed (up to 25%).
