What Commercial Technologies Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

Commercial Technologies manages the enterprise's portfolio of commercial technologies to maximize the business value of the technologies and enhance the customer experience. This function creates strategies for the portfolio and innovative solutions based on relationships with business leaders, develops back-end solutions and capabilities, and improves the front-end experience.

Commercial Technologies Software Engineering develops design options, process improvements and back-end solutions for commercial technologies to maximize performance and suitability for business needs. This job family manages engineering projects and plans for commercial technologies and interfaces with product managers to develop objectives. This job family assesses product systems, identifies opportunities for process and system improvements, and develops solutions through application of engineering principles.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for hands on design and development of application
  • Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems, may contribute to the development of policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.

Qualifications
  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Experience working on an Agile team
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience using GitHub
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins / Concourse
  • Experience building web applications in Angular or React web frameworks
  • Experience writing unit tests for web and microservice-based applications
  • Experience practicing Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Experience practicing Pair-Programming
  • Experience using Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience using Containers
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, or VMWare Tanzu

Anticipated salary range: $93,500 - $140,280
