Job Details
Job Overview:
- Client is seeking a Senior IT Contractor (approx. 10+ years of experience) for a Sr. Lead Developer role.
- This position demands expertise in PowerShell automation, SQL Server, SSIS, and .NET application development, with an emphasis on mentorship, documentation, and system transparency.
- The contractor will be instrumental in analyzing and documenting 60+ PowerShell workflows and backend systems while ensuring knowledge transfer and system clarity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize PowerShell scripts across 60+ automated workflows.
- Design, implement, and tune SQL Server databases including stored procedures, schema design, and query optimization.
- Develop and manage SSIS packages for ETL operations.
- Support backend logic and system integration through .NET / C# application development.
- Mentor technical leads and developers to promote coding standards and operational excellence.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including:
- Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs)
- Workflow and dependency maps for PowerShell scripts
- System design and process documentation
- Deployment guides and support runbooks
- Reverse-engineer undocumented systems and clearly document them.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Expert-level PowerShell scripting and automation environment management
- Strong proficiency with SQL Server, including T-SQL, performance tuning, and ERD creation
- Experience with SSIS and data pipeline design
- Application development skills in .NET, C#, or similar platforms
- Proven experience mentoring other developers or tech leads
- Strong technical writing/documentation skills
- Ability to analyze and reverse-engineer complex or undocumented systems
Preferred Experience:
- Experience documenting large-scale PowerShell automation workflows
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, with work samples required (blackout proprietary content if needed)
Education:
- Minimum: High School diploma
- Preferred: None specified
