Purpose of the Position:
Designs, manages, and maintains Habemco databases of medium to high complexity. Evaluates and optimizes database conguration and access. Resolves database performance and capacity issues. Performs database recovery and back-up. Incumbent s work is generally independent and collaborative in nature, while contributing to moderately complex aspects of a project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages more complex database environments and larger
- Designs and implements database solutions for high availability and disaster
- Works closely with stakeholders to optimize database performance and
- Leads database migrations, upgrades, and major
- Establishes and enforces database policies, security standards, and best
- Provides mentorship to junior DBAs and collaborates with
- Greater involvement in strategic planning and decision-making.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor of Science from an accredited university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other technical eld of study OR in lieu of education, four (4) or more years of direct work experience as a Database Administrator. Plus:
- 4 or more years of experience performing Database Administrator functions including the following:
- Advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Strong experience with database security and
- Expertise in backup and recovery
- Knowledge of cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
- Prociency in automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
- Applicants for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Habemco (e.g., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (STEM/OPT), TN visa.)
- All oers are contingent upon signing a condentiality agreement and satisfactory completion of drug screening and background checks. Employer observes federal standards for controlled substances.
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a DBA in a FinTech environment is benecial.
- Relevant certications in cloud technologies and database management (AWS Certied
- Database - Specialty, AWS Certied Solutions Architect) highly preferred.
- Experience with Amazon RDS for SQL Server and familiarity with Amazon RDS for SQL Server, including instance management, parameter groups, and option groups.
- Experience with administering SQL Server Standard and Enterprise editions with knowledge of their respective features and limitations.
- Experience with SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery with familiarity with these specic features, including Always On Availability Groups and database mirroring.
- Understanding of DevOps principles and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Terraform, Chef) for automation and monitoring.
