Job Details

Position Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant supports the Accounting department with the period end close process and other routine accounting functions. This includes preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and investigating variances or unexpected results. This role also involves partnering with other departments including Treasury, FP&A, Accounts Payable, Operations, Tax, Accounting Teams and others.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist with the monthly, quarterly and annual close process.

Prepare monthly journal entries and complete account reconciliations.

Ensure that all financial information is accurate in compliance Company policy and in accordance with GAAP.

Investigate significant variances or unexpected results.

Assist with audit preparation and respond to requests from the Company s internal and external auditors as necessary.

Provide support for the annual corporate tax return and respond to requests from Corporate Tax as necessary.

Prepare reports and analysis as requested by management.

Assist with strengthening internal processes and controls for financial reporting.

Maintain documentation for weekly, monthly and quarterly SOX procedures.

Ability to work independently on delegated assignments.

Ability to work collaboratively with and cross-train junior staff.

Ability to utilize creative problem-solving skills and demonstrate resourcefulness.

Ability to multitask and reorganize assignments based on shifting needs and priorities

Ability to seek out opportunities to assist others with special projects and tasks during any downtime.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in public or private accounting.

Public accounting and audit experience preferred.

CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with general ledger and financial reporting systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).

Experience and proficiency in Word, Excel and Power-point.

Familiarity with a strong internal control environment.

Experience with multiple entity/subsidiary organizations and intercompany transactions.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
