Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our diverse team as a Computer Support Specialist.

The Computer Support Specialist V provides advanced technical support by diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, configuring and imaging systems, and deploying and maintaining computer equipment and peripherals. This role also trains users on hardware and software, including operating systems, printing, word processing, and email applications.

Responsibilities include responding to support requests via phone, web, and email using remote tools and an automated ticketing system; performing on-site troubleshooting as needed; and managing user accounts. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Computer Support Specialist will:

  • Provide advanced technical support by diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
  • Configure, image, deploy, maintain, and repair computer systems and peripheral devices
  • Respond to service requests via phone, email, and web portal using remote support tools and an automated ticketing system
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and hands-on technical support as required
  • Train end users on new and existing hardware and software, including operating systems, printing, word processing, and email applications
  • Manage user accounts and access in accordance with organizational policies and security requirements
  • Document issues, resolutions, and system changes accurately within the ticketing system


Responsibilities

Skills & Experience

The Computer Support Specialist must have:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Advanced knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware, operating systems, and common enterprise software
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues
  • Experience providing Tier II/III or senior-level technical support in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with remote support tools and IT service management (ITSM) or ticketing systems
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment


Education & Certifications

The Computer Support Specialist must meet the following:

Required

  • At least a high school diploma or GED
  • Four (4) or more years of experience performing PC maintenance and desktop support functions
  • DoD 8570.01-M-compliant IAT II certification, as specified in BBP 05-PR-M-0002

Preferred

  • Microsoft Desktop Support Technician (MDST) certification or equivalent

Security Clearance

A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
