Job Summary:
Responsibility includes a full range of computer and peripheral equipment necessary to process seismic data by performing the listed duties.
Relationships:
This position reports to the Shift Supervisor.
The Operations staff is 24 X 7 X 365 Operation

Highly proficient with commands, programs, scripts, advanced knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.

IT Computer operator is the person responsible for monitoring and controlling( Company's worldwide organization projects and priorities, load adjustments as require per projects) and batch balancing on all systems, Omega OCM / Cloud software and all computer systems in our company worldwide organization and all other in-house peripheral /software components, and interact with internal and external customers, vendors and support teams, monitor, identify, engage and resolve system alerts, support calls from internal and global omega users.
Previous Experience and Competencies:
Education: Possession of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience: 6 months related experience or training, or education.
Physical Demands: Have the ability to regularly stand, crouch, stoop and walk; including pushing and pulling carts and equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment: On Prem
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and basic system support manuals. Must Have the ability to write routine reports and basic procedures. Ability to correspond (written and oral) effectively with internal customers, users and support staff.

Principal Responsibilities:
Participate in on-the-job training and formal classes as necessary to develop experience and competency in the operation of computers and with related data processing equipment.
Learn common aspects of scheduling and monitoring seismic processing jobs and the computing systems, disk sub-systems, robotic tape libraries, networks, and infrastructure hardware.
Become familiar with various seismic processing applications and understand how data processing equipment is used and configured to address various seismic processing needs.
Learn commands used to interface with computer consoles, execute program scripts, and use graphical interfaces to operate compute systems, disk arrays, robotic tape silos, cartridge drives, and network communications equipment as assigned.
Develop and demonstrate proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems and other programs, utilities, and interfaces related to processing seismic data.
Become proficient with monitoring tools used to report on data centre safety, power and cooling of the equipment and understand associated error messages.
Become proficient in using the various reporting mechanisms for system error messages. Submit problem resolution tickets and record issues in the daily operator logs.
Learn, participate in and comply with all QHSE policies and objectives in the data centre.
