The ideal candidate is highly analytical, systems-oriented, and skilled in balancing national strategy with local execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and standardize network-wide slotting and profiling methodologies that align with distribution strategies and customer requirements.
- Serve as the primary expert for the AIMS WMS Profiling and Slotting Module (PSM), offering operational support to 50 distribution, replenishment and manufacturing facilities across North America.
- Create a project plan to transition our distribution centers from manual profiling methods to our automated PSM system.
- Analyze item velocity, dimensions, order patterns, and replenishment trends across multiple DCs to recommend optimized slotting solutions.
- Coordinate with local engineering teams and DC leadership to implement consistent slotting standards while allowing for site-specific flexibility.
- Drive optimization projects to reduce pick-path travel time, increase productivity, and enhance inventory accessibility throughout the network.
- Leverage WMS, LMS, and slotting optimization tools to design and deploy scalable, data-driven slotting models.
- Lead cross-functional projects focused on new product introductions, network expansions, seasonal readiness, new customer builds and post-merger slotting integrations.
- Monitor slotting performance KPIs such as picks per hour, replenishment frequency, cube utilization, picks per breakdown, congestion across the network and slow move or no move levels. Metrics and KPIs must be created and monitored at each tier level from Tier I to Tier V.
- Support operational startups of new distribution centers or re-slotting initiatives following significant SKU changes, layout shifts, new customer and volume increases or automation upgrades.
- Partner with IT, Data Analytics, Inventory Planning, and Continuous Improvement teams to synchronize data feeds and ensure real-time visibility of slotting performance.
- Partner with WMS Design and Run teams to build necessary AIMS WMS enhancements and resolve system issues impacting our profiling and slotting posture.
- Conduct benchmarking and best practice sharing across facilities to elevate network-wide slotting maturity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred
- 8+ years of experience in slotting, profiling, or warehouse engineering-preferably in a multi-site distribution network preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred
- Experience in a highly automated or high-volume distribution environment (e.g., e-commerce, retail, healthcare logistics).
- Experience leading re-slotting efforts during WMS implementations, layout changes, or network realignments.
- Experience working with major WMS platforms (e.g., Manhattan, JDA/Blue Yonder, SAP EWM) and slotting optimization software (e.g., OptiSlot, Slot3D) as well as simulation tools (e.g., AnyLogic, FlexSim)
- Strong data analytics and modeling capabilities using Excel, SQL, and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Ability to influence and drive change across diverse teams in multiple regions.
- Strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.
- Travel Expectations: 25% to regional distribution centers for project work and audits.
