Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled OMS Engineer to manage the administration, maintenance,
and troubleshooting of the eTerra OMS platform and its integrations. This role requires deep
expertise in Outage Management Systems (OMS), particularly with GE OMS (eOMS) or CGI
OMS, along with a strong understanding of AMI Filtering Rules Engine technologies. The
ideal candidate will ensure the effective performance, uptime, and reliability of the OMS
platform while supporting business operations and collaborating with cross-functional
teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the eTerra OMS platform, ensuring it
performs at optimal levels and maintains high uptime.
Develop, enhance, and maintain OMS processes to support business operations
and outage management workflows.
Manage and support touchpoints between OMS and other Grid Management
System (GMS) modules, as well as external applications, ensuring smooth data flow
and system integrity.
Monitor, analyze, and optimize the AMI Filtering Rules Engine to improve outage
detection, response times, and system performance.
Collaborate with IT teams, operations personnel, and external vendors to resolve
system issues, implement enhancements, and ensure the system meets business
requirements.
Maintain system security, compliance, and adhere to industry best practices to
ensure high levels of operational reliability.
Provide technical support and training to internal teams to ensure effective use and
understanding of the OMS platform.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
3+ years of experience in OMS administration, with a preference for expertise in GE
OMS (eOMS) or CGI OMS.
Strong knowledge of Outage Management Systems and their critical role in grid
operations and outage response.
Proven experience working with GMS modules and integrating OMS with other
enterprise-level applications.
Proficiency in AMI Filtering Rules Engine technologies, with the ability to
troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
Familiarity with real-time power grid operations and a strong understanding of utility
industry best practices.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to
articulate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in collaboration with crossfunctional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SCADA, DMS, or EMS systems within a utility environment.
Knowledge of SQL, scripting, or automation tools for efficient system maintenance
and troubleshooting.
Experience with cloud-based or hybrid OMS deployments, leveraging the latest
technologies for system scalability and resilience.
