Job Details
Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite 2 3 days/week; Local Candidates Only)
Interview: In-Person/Onsite
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Active PMP from PMI required (no substitutes).
Job Description:
- Coordinate vendors, consultants, and VDOT IT/business staff for IT project execution.
- Lead development of proposals, SOWs, requirements, and RFP responses.
- Support team development, maintain accountability, and remove project roadblocks.
- Facilitate multi-disciplinary teams in planning, goals, objectives, and procedures.
- Oversee day-to-day project activities and manage cross-functional resources.
- Maintain strong working relationships with executive leadership, vendors, sponsors, and technical teams.
- Set project goals consistent with VDOT technology strategy.
- Track and communicate project progress (schedule, cost, risk) to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with tech leads/architects to integrate best practices.
- Drive delivery across the full lifecycle: procurement, planning, resourcing, risks, scope, schedule, and transition to operations.
- Monitor third-party vendor performance using measurable metrics.
- Maintain project budgets, schedules, risks, and status reports.
- Adhere to VDOT and VITA project management governance.
- Maintain strong EQ and positively influence project culture.
