World Wide Technology is looking for a Network Engineer. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $60.00 to $65.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.

Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Reno, NV

Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire

Position Overview:

Responsible for network engineering tasks across power plants, substations, and corporate facilities in Northern Nevada, including both project-based and operational work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and replace network equipment (primarily Cisco switches, replacing Extreme switches) at headquarters, power plants, and substations.
  • Support and maintain Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls, including migration from Juniper to Palo Alto at substations.
  • Manage and support Cisco wireless networks (9800/9200 APs), guest networks, and related connectivity issues.
  • Handle Remedy ticketing system for change requests and incident management.
  • Collaborate with plant operators, electricians, and technical teams in noisy, industrial environments.
  • Travel regularly to remote sites (power plants and substations in the northern Nevada area), sometimes requiring overnight stays.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with Cisco switching and wireless platforms.
  • Familiarity with Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience with Remedy or similar ticketing/change management systems.
  • Ability to work in industrial settings and communicate with plant operations staff.
  • Project management skills for large-scale network upgrades.
