As a Systems Engineering Associate Manager you'll perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

In this role you will:
Assist Managers within the department and on programs in building a strong team of individual contributors to plan and successfully execute engineering needs across multiple programs
Partner with Managers and Technical Leaders by:
- Managing subject matter experts (SMEs) resources to support to programs, proposal, and various other needs such as surge support or participating in tiger teams as well as longer term assignments
- Performing day to day employee management by fulfilling duties that include but are not limited to assigning work, overseeing that work and workloads, evaluating employee performance, timecard and expense report approvals, etc
- Participating in forecasting needs, recruiting and hiring decisions
- Participate in employee development which includes career development, training, and mentoring, etc - Participating in identifying and fulfilling knowledge continuity and knowledge transfer needs
Provide technical leadership and support in one or more of the Special Disciplines. This support will include participating in or leading as an independent reviewer, tiger teams, proposals, and various other technical support needs
Contribute in performing technical work on reentry programs
Support the full life cycle of programs, for example, to help define the Systems Architecture, Requirements and Verification Baseline, development and flight test hardware baseline, ground and flight test planning, and design maturity milestone reviews. Support includes ensuring designs, from the component level to the system level, will meet performance requirements during ground test verifications and when during mission operations.

Basic Qualifications

Demonstrated experience leading a project that includes two or more engineering disciplines
Demonstrated technical experience expertise on programs/projects that involved at least one of the Special Disciplines (Nuclear Hardness and Survivability, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects, Cyber Security, Reliability, Parts Materials & Process engineering, Safety, etc.)
Experience participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR
ship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance

Desired skills

Demonstrated ability to successfully interface with Customers including strong presentation and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships within programs, with other enterprise organizations, and with customer personnel
Experience with leading collaborative engineering teams to successful completion.
Experience in full life cycle Aerospace/Missile programs
Experience working with subcontractors
Demonstrated ability to coach others to effectively communicate and achieves program/project objectives and priorities.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline
Experience as Control Account Manger (CAM) performing Earned Value Management (EVM)
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums including supplier interface
Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills
A self-starter who develops solutions to technical issues
A motivated individual who's able to work closely within a geographically diverse team to resolve technical issues
Someone with the ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines
Experience with electronic, mechanical, optical or thermal applications of materials and the applied manufacturing processes
Experience with Material Review Board processes and Quality tracking systems (Q-note system)
Experience with manufacturing work instructions for processes in electronic, component/part, mechanical or materials fabrication
The ability to work with management and program representatives at several levels
Technical leadership of small teams or projects
Proven ability to communicate key project information or recommendations to Program management and /or Customers
Active or Current TS clearance

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
