Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team supporting BMO through Virtusa. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. This role demands strong technical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. This role demands strong technical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms.
- Perform data cleansing, preprocessing, and feature engineering on large datasets.
- Work with structured and unstructured data to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define business problems and design data-driven solutions.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Optimize data models for scalability, performance, and accuracy.
- Use visualization tools to create clear, compelling dashboards and reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in Python, R, or Scala for data analysis and modeling.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Proficiency with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with big data platforms (Spark, Hadoop) is an asset.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Work Mode: Hybrid 3 days onsite in Toronto, Canada.
