Our challenge
We are seeking an experienced Lead Snowflake Developer to architect, develop, and optimize our data platforms using Snowflake. The ideal candidate will lead our data engineering efforts, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of data pipelines, models, and transformations on Snowflake.
- Develop and maintain scalable data architecture and solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Optimize query performance, storage costs, and data loading processes within Snowflake.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance standards are met.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Mentor and lead a team of data engineers and developers.
- Implement best practices for data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, and implement improvements.
- Stay updated with Snowflake features, industry trends, and emerging data technologies.
- Document architecture, processes, and workflows for transparency and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Snowflake Developer or Data Engineer with hands-on expertise in Snowflake.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or other relevant scripting languages.
- Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling (Star, Snowflake schemas), and ETL/ELT processes.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices for data pipelines and CI/CD.
- Knowledge of security and data governance best practices on cloud platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's preferred.
