Location: Urbandale, IA 50322

Assignment Length: 35 Months

Shift Information: 1st shift, Monday Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 40 hours/week. Onsite position. Business casual dress code.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and provide daily operational IT support in an office environment. This role emphasizes break/fix troubleshooting for hardware and software, team collaboration, and outstanding customer service.

Job Duties:

Provide basic day-to-day operational support for a computing environment, following established procedures to contribute to smooth operations. This includes support for unit customers, conference rooms, and asset lifecycle management.

Perform and monitor standard processes or operations that are highly stable and consistent, such as imaging computers, replacing printer toner, disposing of outdated assets, and resolving trouble tickets from ServiceNow queues.

Manage onsite desktop hardware, software troubleshooting, printer hardware management, and smart hands support for server/network teams.

Document and distribute information, interacting with external contacts as needed. Examples include updating assets in Asset Center, following KB articles, and complying with unit-specific processes.

Maintain effective email communications and create/maintain basic documents and records (contact lists, process logs, problem incidence reports, customer updates, inventory, maintenance, or service records, and facilities administration requests).

Recognize and resolve problems within supported processes/operations using pre-established solutions; report issues that fall outside standard procedures.

Maintain equipment, supplies, and data supporting processes and operations, such as scheduling maintenance, ordering supplies, monitoring inventory, updating records, and supplier interactions.

Apply technical knowledge in support of processes and operations, such as understanding printer operations (replacing toner and pickup rollers) and troubleshooting issues by following KB articles.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of relevant IT experience.

Knowledge of computing and networking concepts and fundamentals.

Good customer service skills.

Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, plus intranet and internet functions.

Knowledge of computer security policies and general understanding of computer security concepts.

Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.

Education Requirements:

Relevant IT experience preferred. No formal education requirement, but applicants with experience in IT environments are strongly preferred. entry level candidates are encouraged to apply.

Additional Information:

No overtime, weekends, or on-call required.

Supporting approximately 800 employees as a member of an IT team.
