Job Details

Job Description: Summary:
  • We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Material Coordinator to join our optics assembly's production team. This individual will be responsible for managing the inventory, handling, and distribution of delicate optical components and related materials within a strict clean room environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, experience with inventory management systems, and a strong understanding of clean room protocols to ensure the integrity of our high-precision optical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Accurately receive, inspect, and stock incoming optical components, consumables, and mechanical components. Maintain precise inventory records using an ERP system (e.g., Oracle) and perform regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
  • Material Handling & Kitting: Prepare and deliver complete, contamination-free production kits to assembly technicians according to the production schedule. Handle, clean, and package sensitive optics (lenses, mirrors, prisms) following established procedures to prevent scratches, particulates, or other damage.
  • Clean room Control: Adhere rigorously to all clean room protocols, including proper gowning procedures, material entry/exit logs, and contamination control measures. Monitor and maintain the stock of clean room bulk items.
  • Documentation & Tracking: Maintain detailed records of material movements, kit issues, and inventory levels. Use a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to track WIPs and ensure full traceability of all components used in assemblies.
  • Coordination & Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between the planning, purchasing, quality, and production departments to resolve any material shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues promptly. Communicate material status updates to production supervisors to prevent line-down situations.
Requirements: Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree in a technical field is a plus.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in material handling or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Direct experience working in a clean room (ISO Class 5-7) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience handling fragile, high-value components such as optics, electronics, or semiconductors are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Skills:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles (FIFO, cycle counting).
  • Ability to see small engraving on optical parts
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with multiple teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
  • The role is performed primarily within a certified clean room environment.
  • Must be able to wear required clean room attire (bunny suit, hood, gloves, and booties) for extended periods.
  • Must be comfortable with no makeup or perfume at work due to clean room requirements
  • The position may require standing or sitting for long durations.
  • Must be comfortable working with chemicals and cleaning agents (IPA/Acetone) used for precision cleaning of optical components.
*Candidate MUST HAVE extensive clean room experience*
