About the Role
TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Engineer/Admin/Analyst to support our client in the engineering, administration, and support of complex voice communication systems. This expert-level role will be instrumental in supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses and ensuring seamless telecom operations across the system.

About the Role
TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Engineer/Admin/Analyst to support our client in the engineering, administration, and support of complex voice communication systems. This expert-level role will be instrumental in supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses and ensuring seamless telecom operations across the system.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer, design, and maintain telecom systems including:
- Cisco Call Manager v15, Unity Connection, Emergency Responder, VG Analog Gateways
- RingCentral cloud-based voice platform, Nice CX One, RingClone, MS Teams/WebRTC integrations
- Avaya Communications Manager v17, Aura Messaging, CMS, VeraSmart, Virtual Observer
- Provide Tier 3 support and serve as SME for telecom technologies
- Collaborate with IT teams (Network, Service Desk, PMO) on escalations and projects
- Perform system backups and troubleshoot using tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, and TraceSBC
- Support peripheral systems: SPOK paging, IVR, call recording, overhead paging
- Deliver technical training and documentation for end users and internal teams
- Travel to regional sites for on-site support and implementations
Required Skills
- Telecom engineering and troubleshooting (Cisco, Avaya, RingCentral)
- SIP trunking, LAN/WAN, QoS, VLAN tagging
- Data center operations and cabling standards (Cat 5/6, RJ-11/45, fiber terminations)
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Office 365, and vendor portals (Verizon, Windstream, Granite)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 4-5 years in telecom and IT network systems
- Certifications: CCNP, CCIPP, or Avaya/RingCentral training preferred
- Must reside within 60 minutes of metro Boston and be willing to travel regularly
Work Environment
- Hybrid Schedule: 3 days on-site (Boston, Brockton, or Manchester, NH) and 2 days remote per week
- Involvement in high-impact projects tied to hospital acquisitions
