Job Title: Network Engineer I

Service Type: Temporary

Location: On-site - Abilene, Texas

Schedule: 24/7/365 coverage including rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Network Engineer I to support the development and maintenance of network communications in a dynamic data center environment. This role involves assisting with the design, installation, testing, and evaluation of internal and external network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and installation of LAN/WAN systems and network infrastructure.
  • Monitor, test, and evaluate network systems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Support data center infrastructure projects and structured cabling initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network improvements.
  • Maintain documentation and follow standard procedures and practices.
  • Work under general supervision with a degree of creativity and latitude.


Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in network engineering or a related area.
  • Familiarity with standard networking concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience with structured cabling (copper/fiber) and cable testing (minimum 5 years).
  • Knowledge of data center networking and infrastructure.
  • Ability to work rotating 8-12 hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally based on business needs.


Additional Information:

This is an on-site position located in Abilene, Texas, requiring flexibility to work various shifts in a 24/7/365 operational environment. Candidates must be able to adapt to changing schedules and business requirements.
