The Office of Teacher Preparation (OTP) in the College of Education, Health, and Human Services is seeking a full-time Data Analysis and Technology Applications Specialist (FA401).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Facilitate the collection, tracking, and reporting of educator preparation data to include candidate cohort data; completer and non-completer data; assessment data (Praxis); pass-rate calculations disaggregated by program, subtest, and category; and evaluation data provided by candidates, cooperating teachers, and university supervisors.
  • Support the coordination and submission of state, federal, and accreditation data reports, including VDOE, Title II, and CAEP.
  • Create reports from Banner/Argos/ETS/Watermark to provide to internal and external stakeholders and create publicly available reports for OTP webpage.
  • Support OTP in the collection, monitoring, and organization of data for teacher preparation and student teaching applications, requirements, and assessments across all initial and advanced-level programs.
  • Maintain and coordinate completer and employer surveys (track completers by program, distribute and collect survey data, and provide data analysis and reports to stakeholders).
  • Monitor candidate progressions through all phases of the teacher preparation process to include evaluating and verifying requirements for admittance to teacher preparation, final requirements for student teaching, and licensure eligibility upon graduation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for OTP for data requests by faculty and staff.
  • Process assessment test scores via AXIOM into Banner.
  • Collaborate with OTP staff in effective use of technology to streamline office processes, data collection, and recordkeeping.
  • Serve as support for Watermark applications for faculty, staff and students.
This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or additional work experience preferred.
  • Experience in public school and/or post-secondary education as a teacher, faculty member, supervisor, administrator, or related work experience required. Experience working in higher education and/or data management preferred.
  • Experience with data collection, management, and technology applications required.
  • Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and time-management skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required (specifically Excel); data visualization skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn with minimal training, Banner, Degree Works, Watermark, Canvas, and Google applications required.

This position is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
