Job Description: Telecom Deployment Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Telecom Network Deployment Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and updating network designs and deployment packages, including MOPs and fiber/cable run lists, while maintaining accurate network database records to support efficient infrastructure rollout as per the Planning specifications

Key Responsibilities

Manage the engineering, planning and deployment of transport gears related to SONET and DWDM technologies across multi-vendor platforms like Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia, Fujitsu, Ciena, CiscoCerent, Hitachi, Nortel, Tellabs, ADVA, Infinera, Huawei, etc.

Work on inventory systems like Granite, PRO, RSI, TIRKS, EON etc.

Develop and update network designs in the databases and deployment work packages

Create detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for implementation activities and generate and maintain fiber and cable run lists for accurate field execution

Ensure all network data is accurately recorded and updated in the network database.

Maintain accurate records in the network database, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and operational requirements.

Provide support to the field team and other stakeholders during the decommissioning process.

Collaborate with Planning, Field,OSP and Implementation teams to ensure accurate execution of decommissioning tasks.

Maintain detailed documentation of decommissioning activities and outcomes.

Day-to-day interaction with field technicians and peers, to engage their technical as well as non-technical resources to perform tasks.

Knowledge of telecom concepts such as Data, Voice, and VoIP.

Ability to grasp new concepts quickly.

Coordination with Field techs for resolving fiber service issues.

What We Look for in a Candidate

Fully seasoned with typically 4+ years professional experience with a bachelor s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.

Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience mentoring/training/coaching/collaborating with other employees.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively with Planning, field teams and stakeholders.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in relevant telecom software and tools.

Strong customer service orientation.

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Additional Skills

Familiarity with telecom industry standards and best practices.
