Data Architect - ( Master Data Management , Azure Databricks, data lake )
Location: Austin Texas
Exp: Minimum 17+ Years Must
NOTE : This is Remote Role within Texas - Client is Looking ONLY Texas Candidate
Monthly 1/2 Times they need to Attend their Team meetings at Austin Texas
Work may involve the following: Performs advanced (senior-level) data analysis and architecture work. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employees at this level may be considered technical experts in the field.
Lead assessment of existing on-premises and cloud-based data platforms, identifying readiness and suitability for migration to Databricks.
Develop architectural strategies and target-state designs to support scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions in Databricks.
Provide expert-level guidance on Databricks capabilities including data lake architecture, Delta Lake, and Spark-based processing.
Define best practices and standards for data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and pipeline development in Databricks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define a phased migration roadmap, including data governance and security considerations.
Assist in developing proof-of-concepts or pilot projects that demonstrate value and feasibility of the Databricks platform.
Mentor and advise internal DFPS staff on Databricks architecture and development approaches.
Produce documentation including architectural diagrams, migration strategies, technical assessments, and recommendations.
Coordinates and gathers data model requirements, and assists with the analysis, design, modification, and maintenance of database structures, models, and architectures.
Supports data analytics and business intelligence systems and coordinates the implementation of database changes to support new and modified applications, ensuring that new designs conform to standards and guidelines.
Recommends and develops standards, procedures, and guidelines on creating and maintaining data models and governed data, ensuring completeness and quality.
Assists with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Experience in master data management, metadata, reference data, data warehousing, and business intelligence principles and processes, including technical architecture
  2. Experience in database administration, data analysis, research, or architecture work in Oracle database
  3. Experience in data architecture, database design, and enterprise data systems.
  4. Proven experience with data security, master data management, meta data management and support for creation of data dictionaries, data lineage flows and other documentation
  5. Identify the architecture, infrastructure, and interfaces to data sources, tools supporting automated data loads, security concerns, analytical models, and data visualization
  6. Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models
  7. Experience with identifying and documenting data sources, risks and data controls and ability to translate privacy and information security policies into operational procedures
  8. Engage with various business groups and technology to research, define and document proper governance and stewardship practices
  9. Enterprise data warehouse and storage design experience on both on-premise and cloud platforms
  10. Exposure to data classification, clustering, deduplication methodologies
  11. Knowledge of enterprise information management processes and methodologies, relational database management systems, and business intelligence/analytics tools, frameworks and infrastructure
  12. Knowledge of SQL, data modeling, normalization/denormalization techniques, and database performance tuning.
  13. Knowledge of database software and technologies, cloud technologies, and engineered systems and enterprise software products, including Microsoft Azure AWS and Oracle
  14. Experience in designing data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and batch/streaming ETL solutions using Spark in Databricks.
  15. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to tailor communication to audiences of all levels of technical knowledge
  16. Skill in monitoring projects, and establishing measurement and tracking for project tasks
  17. Ability to analyze, evaluate, and summarize data and information for accuracy and conformance to standards
  18. Ability to document policies, procedures, and processes
  19. Ability to exercise sound judgement, critical thinking and analytical skills
  20. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
  21. Experience designing and implementing data lakehouse architectures using Azure Databricks
  22. Experience with Databricks, including experience with both Databricks SQL and Delta Lake.
  23. Experience architecting or implementing solutions using Databricks.
  24. Experience integrating Databricks with Informatica, or Tableau + for data cataloging, MDM, or reporting.
  25. Strong working knowledge of the following DFPS systems/programs (including but not limited to): IMPACT, PACES, ABCS, PEIRS, NEICE, e-Report, e-Travel, General Placement Search and Community Based Care.
  26. Knowledge of the Texas Project Delivery Framework
