Job Description

COMC is looking to hire a Senior Robotics and Automation Engineer. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Senior Robotics and Automation Engineer is responsible for research, design, development, testing, and iterative improvement of robots and robotic automation systems used in COMC's logistic processes. The ideal candidate will be a team player, used to working collaboratively on a variety of complex systems, and will have solid experience designing and developing robot/automation solutions for a variety of needs and processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with company leaders to understand and document processes and requirements for individual process steps.
  • Design, develop, and test robotic systems to automate process steps.
  • Program complex robotics systems.
  • Develop cost-effective, efficient processes for producing robots / automation systems.
  • Fully document the robots / automation systems.
  • Continuously and iteratively improve multiple robots / automation systems.
  • Train Automation Technicians in the assembly, maintenance, and operation of the robots / automation systems.
  • Keep abreast of advances in robotics and related engineering disciplines.
Qualifications

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in automation, robotics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred
  • 4+ years of industry experience
  • Proven ability to develop mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proven skills in writing software and programming systems
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team


Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with or interested in learning about the trading card industry
  • Knowledgeable about professional sporting industry (NBA, NFL, MLB, including Hockey and Soccer etc.)
  • Knowledge in the non-sports card industry (Marvel, Entertainment, Trading Card Games, Pop Culture)


Work Location

  • Preferred Location - Tacoma, WA or Redmond, WA
  • Opportunity for Remote work - This is a hybrid position, with some time onsite each week and some time remote.
