Cloud Infrastructure Technical Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a hands-on and technically proficient Cloud Infrastructure Technical Lead to drive the evolution of our hybrid infrastructure environment in Culver City, CA.

Summary:
This role blends strategic advisory, technical leadership, and deep hands-on engineering work. You will lead infrastructure modernization efforts, including a major migration from VMware to Nutanix, while designing scalable cloud landing zones and automating deployments using Terraform and Ansible.

Key Responsibilities:
Hands-On Engineering (50%):
* Provision and manage infrastructure across Linux, Windows, on-prem, and AWS EC2 environments
* Design and implement AWS landing zones for secure and scalable cloud adoption
* Automate infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible for IaC and configuration management
* Support and troubleshoot infrastructure workloads and applications (1400 workloads, 400 apps)

Leadership & Team Coordination (30-40%):
* Lead a team of engineers through infrastructure transformation and cloud adoption
* Coordinate with global teams, including early morning PST collaboration with India
* Manage on-call schedules and eventually oversee 24x7 support coordination
* Provide mentorship and technical guidance across infrastructure and cloud domains

Advisory & Strategy (10-20%):
* Advise stakeholders on infrastructure architecture, cloud strategy, and modernization roadmaps
* Contribute to long-term planning for hybrid cloud environments and workload optimization
* Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and leadership roles
* Strong background in server provisioning, networking, Linux/Windows systems, and hybrid cloud environments
* Experience with VMware and Nutanix (migration experience preferred)
* Deep knowledge of AWS services, especially EC2 and cloud-native architectures
* Proficiency in Terraform and Ansible for automation and infrastructure-as-code
* Sound understanding of infrastructure architecture and cloud design principles
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams

Preferred Certifications:
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect
* HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
* Nutanix Certified Professional
* Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
