Job title: Audio Visual Pre-Sales System Designer/Engineer

Job type: Full-time/Permanent

Location: Durham, NC/Hybrid (Relocation assistance will be provided)

Essential Functions:

  • Design customer-centered AV systems with attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy that ensure satisfaction and sustainability within the client environment
  • Partner with Account Team to effectively assess customer needs
  • Provide Account Team with technical advisement and brainstorming during pre-sale opportunities and attend client meetings as appropriate
  • Provide consistent customer service during any client interaction, reinforcing confidence both in capabilities and our trustworthiness to deliver on a commitment of excellence
  • Maintain effective 2-way communication with Project Manager regarding expectations and status of projects; adhere to design timelines, proactively identify and address potential challenges
  • Collaborate with post-sales designer to ensure accurate drawings and design intent
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our templates, methodology, and innovation efforts
  • Support accurate and sustainable asset management as requested.
  • Actively seek and demonstrate continuous growth in knowledge of current and new technologies relevant to product and service offerings and strategic vision.
  • Attend relevant external trainings and learn from Level II Design teammates throughout the year as a continuing education process
  • Achieve and maintain entry level DSP, CTS, DMC-E, Dante, and XTP-E certifications as applicable
  • Develop proficiency across DSP environments and multiple lines of equipment.
  • Provide advice to teammates as needed and relevant, including onsite support to install and service teams.
  • Update Dtools equipment catalog as needed.
  • Support Level II Design teammates with design for network infrastructure, as needed
  • Maintain compliance with company administration responsibilities such as submitting weekly time and expense reports via ConnectWise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success delivering on-target with quantifiable results and customer satisfaction
  • 3+ years of experience designing a variety of commercial AV systems in various markets (i.e. education, healthcare, government, corporate, etc)
  • 4-year degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer networking or relevant experience.
  • CTS certification or completion of CTS certification within 6 months of hire
  • Preferred CTS-D certification.
  • Preferred entry level DSP, DMC-E, Dante, and XTP-E certifications
  • Preferred familiarity with connectwise (ERP system)
  • Able to apply basic network design principles
  • Ability to get approved access to healthcare systems (credentialing)
  • Hybrid position must be able to commute to office 3 days per week
  • Direct client interaction experience
