SUMMARY:




We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to design, build, and maintain our security infrastructure. In this role, you will be a key player in defending our organization from cyber threats. You'll be involved in the full lifecycle of our security systems, from initial design and implementation to ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and incident response. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Security System Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain security systems and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms, endpoint security solutions, and IAM technologies.


Cybersecurity Operations: Monitor security systems and analyze logs for suspicious activity. Tune and manage security tools to reduce false positives and improve threat detection.


Vulnerability Management: Oversee the patch management lifecycle, ensuring timely application of patches and updates across all assets to proactively mitigate vulnerabilities and protect against threats.


Incident Response: Act as the technical lead in responding to security incidents. This includes analyzing alerts, investigating breaches, and executing a coordinated response to contain and mitigate threats.


Automation: Develop and implement scripts and tools to automate security tasks, such as vulnerability scanning, log analysis, and incident response procedures.


Collaboration: Work with development, DevOps, and IT teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and infrastructure.




REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


5+ years of experience with hands-on security engineering including implementation, integration, configuration, and automation of security tools and practices.


Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and network security concepts. Familiarity with Cisco security products


Proficiency with security tools such as EDR, IDS/IPS, IAM/PAM, SOAR/XDR, and SIEM


Experience with deploying and managing EDR solutions.


Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation of security systems and processes, specifically for IAM workflows & integrations, SOAR playbooks (Cisco Secure Client), and EDR alerts.


Experience with IAM and PAM tools including integration(s) and automation of Identity solutions with downstream systems. Familiarity with Okta, BeyondTrust, and EntraID would be ideal


Familiarity with cloud security in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.


Solid understanding of operating systems like Linux and Windows and their security configurations.


Certifications such as CISSP, SANS GIAC, OSCP, or a CompTIA Security+ are desirable but not required.
