SAP DATA Migration Architect
New Jersey ( Onsite)
Key Responsibilities
Data Migration Planning & Strategy
- Define data migration strategy, scope, and approach aligned with project timelines
- Identify relevant data objects and data sources for migration
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to understand business data requirements
Data Extraction, Transformation & Load (ETL)
- Extract data from legacy systems (SAP and non-SAP)
- Cleanse, transform, and validate data to meet SAP standards
- Develop and execute data load programs using SAP tools and custom programs
SAP Tools & Technologies
- Use SAP Data Services (BODS), LSMW, Migration Cockpit, LTMC, and/or ABAP programs
- Work with IDocs, BAPIs, and APIs for data migration
- Support data migration to SAP S/4HANA using SAP Migration Cockpit or Fiori apps
Data Validation & Reconciliation
- Perform data reconciliation between source and target systems
- Execute mock loads, test cycles, and final cutover migrations
- Identify and resolve data errors and inconsistencies
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with functional consultants (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM, etc.)
- Coordinate with business users for data validation and sign-off
- Support cutover planning and go-live activities
Documentation & Governance
- Create and maintain data migration documentation (mapping, rules, procedures)
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and audit requirements
- Provide knowledge transfer and post-go-live support
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in SAP data migration for ECC and/or S/4HANA
- Proficiency in SAP migration tools (LSMW, BODS, Migration Cockpit, LTMC)
- ABAP debugging and data analysis skills
- Knowledge of SAP data models and table structures
Functional Knowledge
- Understanding of SAP modules such as FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, or HCM
- Experience with master data and transactional data migration
Analytical & Soft Skills
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and in cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP S/4HANA implementation or conversion experience
- Experience in greenfield, brownfield, or carve-out projects
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality tools
- SAP certification in relevant modules or data services
