Lead SQL Sever Database Admin - Oracle/MongoDB

Position: Lead DBA

Location: Iselin, NJ

12+Months Contract

Required Skills:

Key Responsibilities:

• Administration & Maintenance

• Manage installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades for SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, and mainframe databases (e.g., DB2).
• Monitor database health, performance, and capacity; perform tuning and optimization as needed.
• Implement and manage backup/recovery processes and disaster recovery strategies.

• Security & Compliance

• Ensure database security through user role management, access controls, and encryption standards.
• Support compliance with internal security policies and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, GDPR).

• Development & Support

• Collaborate with application teams to support database development needs (e.g., stored procedures, triggers, indexing).
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for performance and operational issues.
• Automate administrative tasks using scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Shell, Python).

• Data Migration & Integration

• Support data integration and ETL processes between heterogeneous databases.
• Lead or assist in database migrations (e.g., on-prem to cloud or between platforms).
• Mainframe DB Support
• Administer mainframe database systems like IBM DB2.
• coordinate with mainframe support teams for batch processing, job control, and performance tuning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 12-15+ years of experience as a DBA supporting multiple database platforms.
• Expertise in: Microsoft SQL Server (2016+), Oracle (12c/19c), MongoDB (sharded/replicated setups) and Mainframe DBMS (e.g., IBM DB2)
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database scripting.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and alerting tools
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery (e.g., AlwaysOn, Data Guard, replica sets).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
