Preferably these are mechanical engineers or manufacturing engineers, from an education standpoint. But they need to be seasoned in managing capital projects from a few hundred thousand up to several million in total spend. I would want to know what foundry they worked at previously, as well as the capital project they managed for that foundry.

Job Summary
- Direct operations day-to-day process support of melting department.
- Continuous process improvement projects implementing automation and robotics.
- Support operations continuous improvement (CI cards) to achieve safety goals, capacity requirements, product cost and quality commitments.
- The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
- The position is challenged to quickly identify and utilize 6 sigma problem solving methodology resolving problems.
- This position will run capital projects for new equipment installations.
Degree Requirement
This position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

Judgment and Decision Making: Level Extensive Experience

Project Management: Level Basic Understanding
Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Manufacturing Process Design and Development: Level Basic Understanding
Knowledge of how to develop or design a manufacturing process; ability to establish and determine which processes and parameters should be opted to improve functionality and costs.
Change Control - MFG: Level Basic Understanding
Knowledge of the processes and procedures by which a change is identified, evaluated, approved, monitored and documented; ability to manage changes in the production environment and processes effectively.
Lean Manufacturing: Level Working Knowledge
Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
