Duration: Long Term Contract
Overview
We're looking for a Desktop Support Engineer with strong technical expertise in Intune, Autopilot, and application packaging to support a large-scale environment of more than 7,000 devices. This is not a traditional service desk role, it's a hands-on position focused on endpoint management, imaging, packaging, and provisioning within a modern cloud environment.
The right candidate will be the primary technical owner for imaging and endpoint deployment, working closely with IT Asset Management, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure devices are provisioned, secured, and kept up to date.
What You'll Do
- Manage end-to-end imaging and deployment using Autopilot (via Intune) for Windows devices (with some Mac support as needed).
- Build, package, and deploy applications via Intune, ensuring updates and provisioning templates are maintained.
- Serve as the technical lead for endpoint management, not a service desk queue, escalated tickets may come in, but this role is primarily engineering-focused.
- Ensure devices are provisioned correctly, imaged consistently, and patched on schedule.
- Collaborate with ITAM on new device imaging, vendor coordination, and lifecycle management.
- Troubleshoot escalated endpoint issues (connectivity, imaging, provisioning) with basic networking skills (ping, DNS/DHCP, etc.).
- Support a cloud-first environment, with Office 365 primarily cloud-based (hybrid being phased out).
- Work with security and compliance teams to maintain standards across the environment.
- Document processes, maintain knowledge articles, and ensure smooth transitions for end users.
What We're Looking For
- Must-Have Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Intune and Autopilot (imaging and provisioning)
- Experience with application packaging and deployment
- Solid knowledge of Windows 10/11 (MacOS familiarity or ability to learn quickly)
- Additional Skills:
- O365 / Exchange support in hybrid and cloud setups
- Active Directory basics and escalation awareness
- Basic networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP troubleshooting)
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments (1,000+ endpoints; this environment has ~7,500)
- Ability to work independently as the primary owner of endpoint engineering tasks.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Why This Role
- You'll be the key technical engineer for endpoint management in a fast-moving environment.
- Work on modern cloud-first endpoint solutions (Intune/Autopilot, app packaging, provisioning) instead of legacy desktop-only support.
- Exposure to large-scale enterprise environments with 7,000+ devices.
- Hybrid work schedule with flexibility.
Our benefits package includes:
- Comprehensive medical benefits
- Competitive pay
- 401(k) Retirement plan
- and much more!
