Jr - Principal Systems Engineer

Summary:
Technical leadership of software systems analysis or computer systems administration. Sets systems goals, identifies and resolves systems issues and leads prioritization of build items. Translates user requirements into functional requirements and solutions. Performs system, equipment and software analysis as well as engineering support functions. Ensures quality throughout the project life cycle. Establishes technical and administrative policies for analytical personnel, including standards for review of work products for accuracy, adherence to design concepts and applicable standards. Reviews program documentation to assure compliance with standards or requirements and adherence to program milestones. Presents complex data/ concepts in simplified, understandable, and meaningful way. Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications to stakeholders so that issues/solutions are understood. Works with Testing and Quality Assurance (QA) teams within project lifecycle. Oversees systems analysts
Skill Required:
Progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership and supporting software projects in various IT roles
Progressive experience in business or systems analysis
Thorough knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies, diverse technologies and new technical architecture principles and concepts
Thorough knowledge and understanding of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs
Experience with test plan creation, automated test scripting, and load/stress testing
In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycles including Agile development and testing
Thorough knowledge of business functions, and IT industry business issues
Extensive knowledge of business operations, strategies and objectives and strong facilitation, consensus building and presentation skills
Senior skill set includes ability to perform all stated/implied duties within this tier and those reasonably derived from preceding tiers

Education/Certifications - requirements based on position level
BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Data Processing or related field + 10 years of experience
OR
Ms degree + 7 years of experience
OR
PHD + 4 years of experience

Certification:
Contractor shall obtain and maintain certifications as required by current versions of AFMAN17-1303, DoDI 8570.01 -M, and other applicable laws and regulations
