Location Requirement: Onsite or Remote: No WI residency required. Open to nationwide candidates. This position can work 100% remote within the continental US or in the office.
We have an immediate opening at the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) for a Tableau
Developer/Admin. ETF is a state agency that is recognized as a leader in providing public employee
benefit systems. This position will primarily be involved in business intelligence including Tableau
development and administration.
Responsibilities
- Design Tableau dashboards following best practices including visual design principles.
- Understand and document business requirements for dashboards.
- Build data workflows to gather and prepare dashboard data to align with business needs.
- Provide ideas for dashboards aligning with high-level requirements and work iteratively with business partners to refine requirements to deliver the final product.
- Participate in the development and enforcement of Tableau standards and processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Perform testing to certify data sources and Tableau dashboards for production use.
- Write SQL queries to execute in the data lake platform.
- Provide direction and mentoring to analysts on Tableau development, dashboard usability, and design best practices.
- Perform Tableau site administration in DEV, UAT, and PROD including organization, optimization, tuning, and ensuring the security of data using Tableau Server with a strong understanding of security policies and best practices
- Provide user interface development and testing with Semarchy (MDM).
Required Skills:
- Experience writing complex SQL with relational databases (not generated from a tool) 4 years
- Experience with Tableau development 4 years
- Experience with Alteryx or similar tools 4 years
- Experience with Tableau site administration 4 years
- Experience with dashboard development, including hands on development of analytics dashboards and working with complex data sets 6 years
- Experience with data warehouses 4 years
- Experience with BI governance including data usage, metadata, data management, data quality, privacy, and security 4 years
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent, 3 to 6-month BI dashboard design and development projects 4 years
- Agile development practices, particularly Scrum 2 years
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to influence others and to interact with individuals at all levels 4 years
- Experience working productively with cross-functional working groups and across organizational layers with consideration for organizational priorities 4 years
- Mentoring and coaching on data analysis and dashboard development 2 years
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences 2 years
- Ability to develop strong knowledge and understanding of business needs while establishing/maintaining a high level of customer trust and confidence 4 years
