Description: Our client is currently seeking a Data Security Analyst Intern 2

Job Title: Data Security Analyst Intern

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Contract: 6+ Months (Contract to extend/hire)

About the team:
  • We're looking for a motivated Data Security Analyst Intern to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic security environment, helping to protect data and systems. You'll work on a part-time contract basis, supporting our security operations and incident response functions.


Responsibilities
  • Analyze and Respond: Assist in analyzing security incidents using tools like Crowdstrike. Support incident response efforts, including containment, evidence gathering, and forensic analysis.
  • Assess and Monitor: Conduct vulnerability assessments of systems and applications. Monitor and analyze logs, alerts, and reports to identify threats and anomalies.
  • Collaborate and Document: Work with internal and external teams to improve security controls. Maintain detailed documentation, including incident reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and security guidelines.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date on emerging security technologies, threats, and best practices.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of proficiency with scripting/programming languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • At least 2 years of experience with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working both independently and as part of a team.
  • At least 2 years of experience following organizational SOPs.
