Exciting new Senior PACS Administrator contract opportunity with a leading firm! This is a hybrid role in San Francisco, CA - Oakland, CA - or Rancho Cordova, CA - work onsite 2-3x/week in one of these locations

Secondarily, it can be remote, but there would be onsite work 2-3x/month in one of the locations

JOB SUMMARY

A dental clinic implementing Epic PMS and MiPACS as our Dental PACS solution. For 3D and CBCT imaging, we utilize Dexis. We are seeking a Senior PACS Administrator with experience in dental or medical PACS to support, optimize, and scale our imaging infrastructure. This role will support the current clinic and future clinics as part of community connect.

The Senior PACS Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, administration, and expansion of our PACS environment across multiple locations. This role requires hands-on experience with PACS systems, Epic integration (Epic Bridges, HL7, and DICOM interfaces), imaging workflows, and scalable multi-site deployments. The ideal candidate has successfully integrated PACS with Epic and has experience working with technical interfaces and interoperability solutions.

Contract Duration: 6 - Months

Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of PACS administration experience in a dental or medical setting.

Proven experience integrating PACS with Epic PMS using Epic Bridges, HL7 interfaces, and DICOM protocols.

Strong technical expertise in PACS architecture, DICOM, HL7, and interoperability frameworks.

Hands-on experience with MiPACS, Dexis, and other dental/medical imaging software.

Experience with technical interfaces, including API-based and HL7-driven integrations with EHR/PMS.

Understanding of CBCT and 3D imaging workflows.

Knowledge of PACS-VNA architectures, data storage strategies, and cloud-based imaging solutions.

Familiarity with Epic Bridges, Chronicles, and interoperability tools for imaging data exchange.

Understanding of network protocols related to PACS (DICOM, TCP/IP, VPNs).

Troubleshooting latency, image retrieval issues, and connectivity problems.

Working with Active Directory, LDAP, and access control for PACS security

Experience in DICOM modality worklists (MWL) and structured reports (SR

Strong troubleshooting skills and experience collaborating with vendors.

Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data security best practices.

Ability to train and support end-users effectively. Desired Skills & Experience

Experience in dental PACS administration.

Knowledge of SQL and database management

Prior experience in a high-growth, multi-clinic healthcare or dental organization.

Knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud-hosted imaging solutions.

Experience with API-based integrations for PACS and imaging workflows.

What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities

Lead the implementation, configuration, and administration of MiPACS and Dexis PACS solutions.

Manage PACS integrations with Epic PMS, ensuring seamless interoperability via Epic Bridges, HL7, and DICOM interfaces.

Design and implement scalable PACS strategies to support multi-clinic expansion.

Ensure DICOM compliance and optimize imaging workflows for 2D, 3D, and CBCT imaging.

Oversee technical interfaces, including HL7, DICOM, and API-based data exchange between PACS, Epic, and other imaging solutions.

Develop workflow automation for image acquisition, transmission, and retrieval within Epic and PACS environments.

Oversee data storage, backup, and disaster recovery strategies for imaging data.

Collaborate with radiologists, dentists, IT teams, and vendors to troubleshoot and optimize PACS performance.

Lead PACS security initiatives, ensuring HIPAA compliance and data integrity.

Provide technical support and training to clinical and IT staff on PACS usage and best practices.

Lead and manage engagement with vendor and implement vendor proposed solutions and resolutions to issues with MiPACS.

Monitor and optimize image acquisition, transmission, and retrieval speeds across multiple locations.
