JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle APEX Developer to lead the design, development, and support of our homegrown Project Management and Estimating Tools built on Oracle Application Express (APEX). The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle technologies, a strong understanding of application architecture, and a passion for solving real business problems through scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of custom applications using Oracle APEX, PL/SQL, and Oracle Database.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Architect scalable application components, ensuring maintainability, security, and performance.
- Guide team members by conducting code reviews, mentoring, and sharing best practices.
- Build RESTful web services and APIs to integrate with external systems and expose data to other internal applications.
- Optimize SQL and PL/SQL code for performance and scalability.
- Manage release cycles, deployment processes, and version control using Git.
- Document technical specifications, workflows, and support materials.
- Troubleshoot issues across development, QA, and production environments.
- Ensure compliance with internal development standards and security best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle APEX development.
- Strong expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and relational database design.
- Experience with Oracle ORDS, APEX Collections, and APEX Plug-ins.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web UI components.
- Demonstrated experience with RESTful web services and API integrations.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of application security and web development best practices.
- Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring developers.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
