Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Propulsion Analysis Engineer (Experienced/Senior) to support our teams in Edwards Airforce Base, CA.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring a Propulsion Engineer (Mid-Level or lead) to perform propulsion system support and analysis on the T-7A Red Hawk program in the at Edwards Airforce Base, CA! The statement of work will include integration, test, and qualification projects.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assist with ground and flight test planning. Participate in conduct of ground and flight test.
  • Participate in various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.
  • Support definition and performance of certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.
  • Contribute to definition of requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems and vehicle fuel and tank systems.
  • Coordination and control of the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.
  • Support development of specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria.
  • Support fielded systems to assure continued reliability and airworthiness.
  • Assist with development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of working experience within a relevant industry with a Bachelor's OR 3+ years with a Masters OR a PhD

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 9+ years of working experience with a Bachelor's OR 7+ years with a Masters OR 3+ years with a PhD
  • 5 or more years' related industry work experience
  • Flight or ground test experience
  • Experience with jet engines and/or air breathing propulsion operation fundamentals
  • Propulsion analysis, integration design, system installation and support experience
  • Component and hardware integration
  • Vendor management experience
  • Qualification and Certification experience

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
