At Qualcomm Research Philadelphia, we are looking for smart, innovative, and motivated individuals to join the Qualcomm Autonomous Driving team. We work collaboratively with Qualcomm teams across the world to solve exciting challenges in perception, localization, object tracking, decision-making, motion planning, and control.

Our state-of-the-art facilities are located within the Pennovation Works, a collaborative campus for technology, design, art, engineering, and medicine.

Role:

We are looking for a senior software engineer to join our autonomous driving systems integration and test team. In this role, you will:

  • Analyze data from simulation and real-world testing to determine root causes to failures, and collaborate with internal and external teams to drive bug resolution
  • Support cross-component KPI development and monitoring to evaluate performance and safety
  • Develop visualizations and HMIs for autonomous driving
  • Expand analysis tools and automated data processing pipelines
  • Support vehicle integration and release bring-up activities
  • Work closely and build relationships with experts in robotics, AI, and machine learning

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field
  • 2+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.
  • Strong Knowledge of System Testing, functional ADAS testing, and test plan development
  • Excellent Python/C++ programming skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • 4+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience
  • Experience working with autonomous driving systems
  • Experience in analyzing performance of complex systems using automated software driven techniques.
  • Experience with Software-In-the-Loop/Hardware-In-the-Loop development
  • Experience with cloud computing and big data analytics

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Applies Software knowledge to assist and support the design, development, creation, modification, and validation of embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.

Analyzes user needs and software requirements.

Designs and implements small software features for products and systems.

Participates in the design, coding for small features, unit testing, minor debugging fixes, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed on schedule.

Assists in performing code reviews and regression tests as well as the triaging of issues to ensure the quality of code.

Collaborates with others inside project team to accomplish project objectives.

Writes technical documentation for Software projects.

Level of Responsibility:

Works under supervision.

Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.

Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.

$93,500.00 - $140,500.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
