Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced DNAC / Cisco Catalyst Center Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-wide network solutions leveraging Cisco DNA Center (now Catalyst Center) and related technologies. The ideal candidate will deliver advanced network automation, assurance, and analytics while supporting complex troubleshooting and lifecycle operations within a multi-vendor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide advanced technical support for network incidents and escalations, diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
- Respond to customer calls, manage case backlogs, and collaborate with SMEs to deliver resolution plans.
- Recreate incidents in lab environments to assist in comprehensive troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Cisco DNAC / Catalyst Center Operations
- Deploy, configure, and manage Cisco DNAC / Catalyst Center systems including devices, sites, tags, templates, and workflows.
- Utilize DNAC features such as Assurance, Automation, Analytics, and Intent-Based Networking for network monitoring and optimization.
- Onboard and provision network devices (routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points), and maintain inventory health using Cisco tools.
Network Design & Implementation
- Support planning and deployment of Software-Defined Access (SDA) fabric, policy management, segmentation, and security integration.
- Collaborate with network architects and cross-functional teams to implement network strategies, standards, and best practices.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and escalation guides for network operations.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide training sessions, and share expertise on best practices and tooling.
Customer Engagement & Collaboration
- Interact with customers and internal stakeholders to assess network issues, advise on strategic solutions, and support customer success.
- Coordinate with vendors (e.g., Cisco TAC) and external partners for advanced issue escalation and resolution.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Typically 5+ years in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure support roles.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco DNA Center / Catalyst Center for network automation, assurance, and device lifecycle management.
- Deep understanding of network protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), TCP/IP suite, DNS, DHCP, ARP, SNMP, and related technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using network tools (packet captures, debugs, network monitoring).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Cisco Certifications: CCNP Enterprise, CCIE (Enterprise), or specialized Catalyst/DNAC credentials.
- Experience in Software-Defined Access (SD-Access) and policy-based networking.
- Familiarity with network automation, APIs (REST), and scripting (Python/Ansible).
- Background in multi-vendor environments and integration with wireless controllers and NAC solutions such as Cisco ISE.
- Knowledge of network security frameworks and segmentation best practices.
