A Korn Ferry client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead SAP Integration Engineer to spearhead the design, development, integration, and maintenance of our custom-built applications and ensure seamless connectivity with our existing enterprise systems. This role will be pivotal in driving our digital transformation initiatives by delivering robust, scalable, and efficient solutions that meet our unique business needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, proven leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset to navigate complex integration landscapes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of custom application developers and integration specialists within the implementation partner team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor team performance to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of custom application development, from design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications.
- Architect and design scalable, secure, and maintainable custom applications using appropriate technologies and frameworks.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
- Manage code repositories, version control, and deployment processes.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive integration strategy to connect custom applications with various enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, data warehouses, third-party APIs).
- Design and implement integration solutions using various tools and technologies (e.g., API management platforms, ETL tools, messaging queues, ESBs).
- Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across integrated systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues, implementing timely resolutions.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team on application development and integration methodologies, tools, and technologies.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential application within the organization.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in our custom application and integration practices.
- Participate in architectural reviews and provide recommendations on technology choices.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business units, IT infrastructure, and security teams.
- Manage expectations and provide regular updates on project status and progress.
- Participate in project planning and estimation efforts.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation for custom applications, integration processes, and APIs.
- Define and enforce development and integration standards and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in custom application development and integration, with at least 5 years in a lead role.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying custom applications using various programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, .NET, JavaScript frameworks).
- Deep understanding of integration patterns, technologies, and best practices (e.g., RESTful APIs, SOAP, message queues, ETL, API gateways).
- Experience integrating with various enterprise systems (e.g., SAP).
- Strong understanding of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and cloud-based integration services is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong leadership, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP BTP integration platforms.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with security best practices in application development and integration.
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality principles.
