Job Details
Seeking a Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to support a strategic initiative to realign testing practices and scale coverage across multiple workstreams. The client is currently operating with half the necessary headcount, and this hire will be instrumental in building a robust automation layer that integrates seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines.
- 5+ years of experience in software development or SDET roles
- Strong coding background in one or more: Java, C#, .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript
- Proven experience writing automation tests that integrate with CI/CD pipelines
- Deep understanding of REST API testing and validation
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks
- Fintech/Financial services industry experience (required)
- Solid database testing experience (SQL, PostgreSQL)
- Ability to understand business logic (e.g., ledger validation) and translate into test cases
- Comfortable working under pressure and adapting across languages and tech stacks
Nice to Have
- Experience with Golang applications
- Familiarity with Gherkin/BDD frameworks
- Exposure to QTP or legacy testing tools
- Unit testing expertise and ability to extend coverage beyond base layers
- Experience with test data management and environment stability strategies
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Take ownership of incoming tickets and proactively define test strategy
- Collaborate with developers to understand feature functionality and identify breakpoints
- Build and maintain automation tests that mimic user flows and exploratory scenarios
- Troubleshoot and stabilize flaky tests caused by environment changes
- Develop mid-layer tests that provide fast feedback in CI/CD pipelines
- Align testing tools and frameworks to the application stack (e.g., Selenium for Java, Playwright for JS)
- Act as a technical QA partner to developers, speaking fluently at the code level
