The Opportunity:
As an embedded sof tware engineer, you know how to create and maintain cru cia l pieces of sof tware. You use your knowledge to write and optimize code that creates a bridge between pieces of sof tware, allowing them to communicate. We're looking for an experienced embedded sof tware engineer like you to develop technology for our clients' most important mission-forward challenges.
As a senior embedded sof tware engineer at Booz Allen, you'll support the development of systems, sites, and tools for our clients. Using the latest tools and technology, you'll write, test, and edit code in support of the team's overall results. You'll expand your skills as you develop and reverse engineer sof tware that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. You'll work with other team leaders to troubleshoot and correct operational issues, as well as with cybersecurity spe cia lists to ensure that the sof tware you're creating is secure.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 5+ years of experience providing sof tware or systems engineering documentation, including configuration, management, and technical baselines
- 5+ years of experience with embedded sof tware in languages such as C and C++, sof tware maintenance, and system integration
- Knowledge of the sof tware development lifecycle, including Agile sof tware development met hodology
- Ability to translate stakeholder and system needs into sof tware requirements
- Ability to lead a sof tware development team through all phases of the sof tware development lifecycle
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in software engineering, or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with requirements management environments and tools such as Model-Based Systems Engineering ( MBSE ) or DOORS
- Knowledge of Sof tware Configuration Management ( SCM ) and tools, including SVN, Bitbucket, Git, or JIRA
- Knowledge of Linux operating system, including RedHat or RedHawk
- Ability to model, architect, design, develop, code, integrate, test, and manage embedded sof tware solutions to provide and sustain operational capabilities in military ground systems and vehicles
- Ability to develop and execute sof tware and electronics lifecycle management, development, transition, and sustainment and support plans
- Secret clearance
- Master's degree
