Our client is seeking a highly motivated Scientist III Analytical Development with a strong background in flow cytometry and developing, establishing, and qualifying cell-based assays to be a key contributor to a dynamic and collaborative Analytical Development team. The Scientist III will be able to solve complex problems by applying current best technical practices and be able to connect cross-functionally to leverage methodologies used in other fields as well as own. The Scientist III will demonstrate a sense of urgency in the work while maintaining respect for best practices and an understanding for the importance and applicability of quality and controls in development activities.

The problem-solving, data analysis, and interpretation will be focused and data-driven, resulting in thorough documentation and pointed technical reports suitable for executive management.

The Scientist III will be well-versed in internal and external best practices, lead internal and external projects, and be a key source of technical knowledge in interactions with company colleagues. It is expected the Scientist III will continuously improve operational effectiveness and participate actively in the recruitment of technical staff to maintain an effective level of technical ability for all business requirements.

  • Act as a flow cytometry and cell-based assay subject matter expert (SME) and lead on the development and qualification of flow and cell-based analytical methods.

  • Leads and participates in the planning of analytical method qualification/verification, validation, and tech transfer activities in a cGMP environment.

  • Demonstrates the ability to consistently break down and solve complex multifactorial problems.

  • Creates and presents data in a format suitable for cross-functional and client meetings and is proficient at explaining/defending conclusions.

  • Proactively prepares for initial and follow up conversations with internal scientists and clients and prepares responses to likely questions/discussion topics.

  • Communicates effectively within the group, across functions, and with clients.

  • Understands advanced molecular biology, immunology and eukaryotic cellular biology concepts.

  • Independently designs experiments to facilitate the development of novel analytical methods and optimization of existing techniques.

  • Analyze and interpret data collected by other team members and create reports and presentations.

  • Proficient in authoring technical development protocols, reports, and tech transfer documents.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.



Required



  • Either a B.S. degree with 8+ years of assay development and validation experience or a Master's degree in Cellular Biology, Immunology or related field with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience or a PhD degree with a minimum of 2+ years of industry experience.

  • Ability to independently design experiments, analyze complex data and interpret and present experimental results.

  • Able to mentor junior team members and support expansion of Analytical Development team.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, strong work ethic, self-motivated attitude and teamwork orientation is an absolute must.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ability to multitask, operationally and strategically.

  • Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage through complex processes/projects.

  • Will interpret and carry out an extensive variety of technical instructions in written, oral, schedule, mathematical or diagram form.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Preferred



  • Either a B.S. degree with 12+ years of assay development and validation experience or; a Master's degree in Cellular Biology, Immunology or related field with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience or; a PhD degree with a minimum of 4+ years of industry experience.
