RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Greenwood Village, CO is seeking a Mid-Level Network Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge network technologies in a collaborative environment, supporting both lab and operational infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have experience with CMTS and DOCSIS technologies, or a strong background in routing and switching.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in implementing and supporting high split and mid split network configurations
* Contribute to creating and maintaining technical documentation, including network diagrams, implementation guides, and field bulletins
* Troubleshoot network issues within lab and operational environments under guidance, ensuring timely resolution of bugs and defects
* Participate in testing and validation of new technology features and enhancements, supporting manual and automated test plans
* Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to support network design and operations
* Stay current with new platforms and technologies to support continuous improvement efforts
* Support the planning, design, and deployment of network hardware and software solutions
* Assist in assessing network performance, identifying bugs, and recommending improvements
* Help develop and execute test plans, including integration and regression testing
* Support setup and troubleshooting of test network environments for device testing and qualification
* Assist in managing network services during planning, implementation, and operational phases
* Support RF-related troubleshooting during regression testing of new hardware and firmware
* Help coordinate lab operations, including connectivity setup and configuration within lab environments
* Provide feedback to Product, Architecture, and other teams based on test results and network evaluations
REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-6 years of experience in network engineering, preferably with exposure to CMTS and DOCSIS technologies
* Candidates with strong engineering experience in routing and switching are encouraged to apply in place of DOCSIS experience
* Working knowledge of routing and switching protocols and configurations
* Experience or familiarity with lab regression testing for hardware and software in cable or similar network environments
* Basic understanding of Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) concepts and deployments is a plus
* Ability to produce clear technical documentation with guidance
* Strong troubleshooting skills across network and system integration issues
* Experience supporting test environment setup and execution
* Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
