Communications Specialist 3

Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Communications Specialist for a contract position in Redmond, WA. The opportunity will be ten months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:


Project Management (Non-IT Focus)

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate human rights and supply chain subject-related projects with a specific focus on communication, reporting, and data.
  • Develop detailed project plans, assess feasibility, and integrate cross-functional activities.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships across departments and levels, fostering collaboration and clarity.
Content Creation & Communications
  • Develop clear, compelling messaging aligned with the organization's mission and broader sustainability initiatives.
  • Write, edit, and produce a variety of content, including web content, reports, newsletters, and technical documentation to capture processes and procedures.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and effective storytelling aligned with corporate messaging.
<>SharePoint & Visual Design</>
  • Maintain and update business content on the team's SharePoint site for stakeholders.
  • Design and implement visual solutions for web interfaces and publications.
  • Create charts, graphs, and layouts based on data and design principles.
<>Data Analysis & Reporting</>
  • Collect, manage, and analyze supply chain data to support human rights reports and related communications.
  • Maintain historical data in a structured, version-controlled format to enable trend analysis and audit readiness.
  • Generate insights from collected data to inform strategy, enhance storytelling, and support decision-making.
  • Collaborate on AI tool development with internal teams to improve data capture, analysis, and visualization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Design, or a related field; PMI or PMP certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in non-IT project management, communications, content creation, and technical writing.
  • Familiarity with stakeholder data collection and historical data management practices with the ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights to support reporting and strategic decision-making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities; able to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities and ambiguous settings.
  • Proficiency with platforms and tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, Power BI, Planner; ability to navigate Azure DevOps and leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and content quality.

  • 5-7 years of experience in relevant industry roles.
  • Top candidates excel in both technical writing/content creation and data organization.
  • Human rights and supply chain data subject matter knowledge preferred.
  • Performance indicators include quality of writing samples/portfolio, ability to synthesize data into clear narratives, and organizational skills in managing reporting processes.

  • Writing/Content Creation (Minimum 5-7 years): Experience writing for various platforms (reports, websites, process documentation, newsletters, SharePoint).
  • Data Management/Organization (Minimum 5-7 years): Ability to collect, organize, and manage data from multiple teams, ensuring data is accurate and accessible for reporting.
  • Project Management (Minimum 5-7 years): Coordinating reporting, documentation, and communications projects, including stakeholder engagement and tool/process development.
