As an Engineering Manager, you will be using your skills and expertise to manage functional teams through program execution for our products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You will represent the engineering department at all management level meetings. You'll ensure that the engineering design, documentation, and approvals meet the program schedules, are obtained in a timely manner and that engineering hours expended are productive, meeting program goals and budgets. You will own and continuously improve processes and procedures, oversee training of staff and provide technical direction as required.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, mentor, and coordinate a team of systems engineers.
  • Oversee requirements definition, system architecture, technical integration, and verification/validation
  • Ensure successful delivery of engineering projects on time, within scope and budget.
  • Develop, implement, and improve systems engineering processes, tools, and best practices to enhance team performance and product quality.
  • Work closely with other functional teams including program management, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality assurance to achieve program goals.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial role
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Proficient in using Computer Aided Engineering tools for analysis and simulation
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Understanding of the systems engineering life cycle
  • Skilled in capturing, decomposing, tracing, and validating requirements
  • Capable of overseeing the development of system architectures, functional decomposition, interface definition, and system integration
  • Strong analytical skills for addressing technical challenges, troubleshooting failures, and implementing root-cause corrective actions
  • Experience planning and executing system verification and validation activities.
  • Strong expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and processes
  • Experience with aircraft or aviation system modification and integration.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Top Secret Clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Previous management experience; exposure to recruiting employees; assigning, directing, and evaluating their work; and overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence
  • Ability to motivate/work with others
  • Experience with identifying and coordinating resources to ensure the required tools, processes, and training are available/effective and programs are staffed and supported to achieve success
  • Understanding of how to prepare project schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
  • Prior exposure to working successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment emphasizing rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, CAMEO

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $150,009.28 - $206,262.76. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
