Job Details

This role was initially meant to be 80% auditing-focused. This time around, they want someone who can, in addition to auditing, actually provide design mock ups of exactly what is being recommended out of the audit. Being able to produce those elevated designs that illustrate recommendations will be a key focus moving forward.

Top Requirements

(Must haves)

    • 5+ year of experience – open to someone coming from UX Design, UX Research, or Product Management – also open to more of the business side/merchant background.
      • Experience providing design mock ups of audit recommendations & presenting findings to executive teams
      • Strong UX knowledge and perspective. Ability to assess website’s user experience.
      • Design of balance / analytical side / comfortable to learn analytics tool / more importantly – very comfortable in PowerPoint
    • Deep ecommerce knowledge required.
      • Deep understanding of ecommerce UX best practices to drive customer acquisition, retention, and conversion across devices
      • Candidates should understand what's a needle mover in ecommerce vs a violation of usability principal (i.e. ecommerce drivers, rather than just UX drivers)
    • Ability to be strategic and tactical (see forest vs. the trees)
      • Get in the weeds but be able to synthesize. Instead of delivering a ton of slides, know which the top issues/opportunities are to narrow down – more of a systems thinker
      • Strategic thinking around implementation—able to differentiate quick wins from those requiring deeper functional development
    • Ability to create a compelling PowerPoint/Figma presentations and influence stakeholder though live presentation skills
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey findings to stakeholders across design, product, and executive teams
    • Strong background in site and customer experience research, including heuristic evaluations, customer journey mapping, and behavioral analysis
    • Data-driven: proficient in leveraging both qualitative and quantitative data to uncover key behavioral insights and inform recommendations—experience with tools such as Adobe Analytics, Quantum Metric or similar platforms
      • Candidates with proven experience leveraging qualitative/quantitative data from data analytics & session replay for Quantum Metrics or Adobe Analytics are highly preferred
    • Expert in analyzing merchandising strategies, product taxonomy, photography, and copy
    • Awareness of evolving digital experience trends, including AI-assisted design, personalization, and next-gen interface patterns
    • Strategic thinking and storytelling skills to synthesize insights into clear, actionable recommendations
    • While not required to be a hands-on visual designer, experience leveraging design tools is a plus and should have a sharp eye for evaluating interface usability and able to create mockups that bring UX recommendations to life

Additional Notes

    • Someone who was in ecommerce for a while and done with design but has a really strong UX sensibility of what is usable, what are the conversion drivers for ecommerce. What these audits are about – we will go in and look at outdoor furniture. And compare outdoor to all our competitors. Look at the data. How we are merchandizing the product. Looking at the imagery. Outside of UX job launching features. HERE you are looking at content taxonomy. Is it clear? Can you get from point a to point B. what is required for stronger performance sites and stronger conversions. Up our game and help our brands on the merchandizing things – looking to see we are missing this dimension. Missing this call out for this product. Looking for strong Type A personality type.
